Escape To Sicily In This Delightful Film And Food Experience At The Melbourne Food And Wine Festival

You won’t need a passport for this one.

Fall in love with Sicily in this combined experience that combines a classic film with delicious food. Catch a private screening of Cinema Paradiso at the iconic Sun Theatre in Yarraville, followed by a sumptuous four-course menu. It’s all happening on Sunday August 22.

The Sicily film and food experience

Transport back to 1988 to see Cinema Paradiso, a classic Italian drama directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. Be swept away by the score composed by Ennio Morricone and find out why this film won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In a love letter to cinema, Cinema Paradiso is about a film director who returns home to a Sicilian village. There, he remembers falling in love with the cinema and his first love affair.

After that, head to Café Terroni and enjoy a four-course feast inspired by the movie. During your meal, you will enjoy foods such as swordfish, sardines and gnocchi alla Norma. After that, finish your meal with some cannoli from T. Cavallaro & Sons in Footscray. There will also be some Italian wines courtesy of Winestock. These wines will also be available for sale in take-home packs at cellar-door prices.

This event will take place from 10am to 4pm on Sunday August 22. Tickets for this experience are $120.
