Melbourne’s post-pandemic Asian pop music scene is thriving. Last year saw the return of Epik High and Eric Nam, as well as DPR’s first time in Melbourne. 2023 is shaping up to be a good year too, with Stray Kids playing at Rod Laver Arena this month, and BLACKPINK coming to Melbourne in June. And now, fans can rejoice because there’s a whole new music festival coming to Melbourne, with a stacked line-up of international stars. Get ready for SONICA, a music and arts festival that will take over Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday March 17.
SONICA Music Festival
Experience incredible pop music in this open-air festival. After teasing details bit by bit over the past few weeks, the line-up is finally out, and features a blockbuster selection of internationally renowned artists. The full line-up includes:

- Gentle Bones
The first act will begin after 4:30pm, but local DJs will set the mood earlier on in the day. Soundcheck ticketholders can access the venue from 2:30pm and general admission express ticketholders can access the venue from 3:30. Meanwhile, the gates will open for all other ticket holders from 4pm.
As you listen and dance to the music, a curated selection of food trucks will be onsite in case you get hungry. These hawker-style food trucks will offer a variety of dishes and drinks from a wide variety of cuisines.
