Have some fun in the sun at this cheery Sunflower Festival in Diggers Rest. You’ll immerse yourself in fields of yellow and find something beautiful to take home. This festival is a 35km drive from Melbourne, and will take place over one weekend only, on February 12 and 13.
Whether you want to celebrate Valentine’s early or you just want to have some fun, this Sunflower Festival will be the perfect day out. On top of the sunflower picking, there will be food trucks, coffee and ice cream, so you don’t have to go hungry. For the little one’s, there will also be children’s entertainment. There will be free parking available onsite, and access to toilets.
As this is a sunflower picking festival, you will need to bring secateurs or scissors to cut your own flowers. You will also need to bring a bucket or bag for transportation. Remember to wear durable footwear, so you can comfortably traverse the 35 hectare property, as well as a hat and sunscreen to remain sun-safe.
Dogs are welcome to tag along, as long as they remain on a leash at all times, and their owners pick up after them. As this is a working farm filled with flowers, there will be bees buzzing along and collecting pollen. You should also keep an eye out for snakes.
