TarraWarra Estate
Escape to the Yarra Valley and lose yourself on the splendid grounds of this 400-hectare estate. At just over an hour’s drive away from Melbourne, this magnificent location features a 28-hectare vineyard, an extensive nature reserve, a subterranean cellar door and restaurant. And now, they’ve got two types of picnic boxes that are the perfect way to spend a summer’s day.
Both of the boxes feature a curated selection of local produce. Graze on fresh breads with lavosh and cheeses, charcuterie with pickles and olives, grilled marinated vegetables from the Estate garden and beetroot dip alongside nuts, anchovies, smoked duck & venison terrine and trout pâté.
The smaller box is suitable for two people, and costs $80. Meanwhile, the larger box is good for groups of two to four, and costs $130.
While you enjoy your picnic, pair your nibbles with a selection of Estate wines, like rosé and chardonnay.
If you’d like to try a variety of drops, a $40 self-tasting paddle board, featuring two reds and two whites, is also available to try on weekends.
Bookings are not required for the picnics. These boxes are available to order from the Cellar Door on weekends from 11:30am to 4pm. You will need to bring your own picnic blanket if you choose to sit on the sprawling lawn.
