“Sometimes me think, what is friend? And then me say: a friend is someone to share last cookie with.”
Truer words are hard to find, and if you don’t believe me then you haven’t been to The Cookie Box and bought a box of six cookies only to eat five on the way home and then have your housemate shout, ‘‘Did you get cookies?! Can I have one?” So you look down at your favourite cookie saved for last, look back up at your housemate, back down at your cookie and… (Featured image: @thecookieboxaustralia)
The Cookie Box serves up artisanal cookies that are both chunky and gooey. They come in nine different flavours, from The Classic to Churro-inspired as well as a vegan option and a flavour of the month.
Why do these cookies taste so good?
Maybe it’s the quality ingredients. Maybe it’s because they’re made by hand. Maybe it’s because the dough rests for 48 hours before being baked. Or maybe it’s because they’re fresh — all sold on the same day they’re baked.
Individual cookies are priced at $5-$6 depending on the flavour. But to really get your monies worth, and save you the trips back and forth, you may as well get the box of six cookies for $28. Afraid you’ll eat all six? Be strong, and share the joy with your friends.
The Cookie Box also does coffee and milkshakes to help wash down the sweetness, but if you really want to treat yourself, you’re going to try one of The Cookie Bowls (cookies and ice-cream together) or one of their insane Cookie S’mores.
Hey, let’s rewind for a second. You know that last cookie? We’d suggest telling your housemate they can only have half.
Find The Cookie Box at the Windsor end of Chapel Street, and a stone’s throw from Glenferrie Station in Hawthorn.
