The 50 Top Italy guide has released their 2022 list for The Best Italian Restaurants in the World. The top three spots were given to restaurants in Toronto, Washington DC and Shanghai, in that order.
Tipo 00 came into the list at number 41.
50 Top Italy praised the restaurant for its contemporary Italian style, that shows off the flavour of the city, with fresh, locally-sourced products and complex flavours. “The portions are generous and the atmosphere is cheerful,” they said. “Raising a glass here is always a pleasure. The fresh pastas are good and the vegetarian dishes are excellent. The take-away boxes are well-executed and have conveniently serviced their customers during the lockdowns.”
Meanwhile, Sydney’s LuMi Dining was the only other Australian restaurant to make the list. It came in at number 23.
At Tipo 00, it’s best to make a reservation and arrive hungry. Start with one of their delicious appetisers, like smoked stracciatella. Then, load up on carbs with their bestselling pasta, like squid-ink tagliolini, saffron tortelloni or white asparagus cannelloni. Finish strong with a dessert, like their Tipomisù, and enjoy your meal with a drink from their extensive wine list.
