After delighting Sydneysiders with their decadent desserts, cult-favourite Tokyo Lamington has finally come to Melbourne. Originally a concept made for Japan, this bakery serves up lamingtons in a whole rainbow of colours and flavours from around the world. Think fairy bread popcorn, yuzu meringue, tiramisu and more! And you can try it for yourself, because Tokyo Lamington is now open in Carlton.
Tokyo Lamington
Created by Min Chai (former N2 Extreme Gelato) and Eddie Stewart (former Black Star Pastry), this new Melbourne store is now open for dine in, takeaway and delivery. Start with the OG lamington, with raspberry jam and vanilla cream. Then, try out their new collaboration with Arnotts, and tuck into a Mint Slice, Iced Vovo or Lemon Crisp lamington. This new Arnotts range is available for the whole month of October.
For something gluten-free, opt for the refreshing passionfruit and lemon myrtle lamington. And if you’re vegan, you’ll love the flavoursome mango sticky rice lamington.
If you’re after something else entirely, this bakery also serves up pies, quiches, sausage rolls and onigiri. There’s also a delicious vegan cookie range for you to snack on. Pair it with a coffee from Single O for your daily dose of caffeine.
