The terrific town of Trentham delighted us just a few months ago with their great potato festival. And soon, they’ll light up once again with their new winter celebration, Trentham Winterfest. Look forward to dazzling light displays, toasty food, roaring campfires, live music and plenty of mulled wine. This exciting winter festival will take place on Friday August 2, from 4pm to 8pm.
Trentham Winterfest
Wander through the heart of town, along High and Market Streets, and soak in the good vibes. The historic façade of Hotel Trentham, as well as the surrounding streets, will be lit up with spectacular projections. The pub will also have live music out the front, and a hearty BBQ serving up German-style street food.
For more lights, head to The Green Store, which will transform into a winter wonderland inspired by aurora borealis. Look forward to light projected window displays, face painting, free infrared sauna samplings, s’mores and spiced tea. They will also hold a mini book launch and signing for The Medicinal Garden by local author Caroline Parker.
You’ll find more fabulous themed displays at other local businesses in town, as well as plenty of neon lights shining in the Town Square. Meanwhile, next to the train station, Vic Market Square will light up with a campfire, where you can toast marshmallows, sip on hot chocolate and take part in a silent disco.
Little Gallery will hold the grand opening of their annual Winter Show fundraising exhibition. Admire the work of 16 local artists from around Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges. Outside the gallery, glow sticks and human butterflies will entice you with shimmering lights.
Treat yourself to pizza, burgers, souvlaki, mulled wine, cocktails and more from local venues like Mr Peacock, Trentham Food and Wine Company and Annie Smithers du Fermier. After you’ve admired the lights and had your fill of food and drink, wander into some nearby shops, which will have extended trading hours.
This exciting festival is free to attend. Find updates and more info here.
