Celebrate the changing of the seasons, and see summer and winter come together at Urbnsurf, Australia’s first surf park. Prepare yourself for the Boost Mobile Winter Jam, which will see some of Australia’s leading surf and snow athletes in one place. Watch surfers catch the perfect wave in the lagoon, then, see a winner-takes-all snowboard rail jam just metres away. Dance the night away with live DJ sets, and keep your energy up with food and drink from custom bars and food trucks. This fun event will take place on Saturday August 27.
Boost Mobile Winter Jam at Urbnsurf
The event will kick off at sunset, with a DJ set from Dena Amy. While you dance, watch surfers compete in a live version of the Rivals series. City Snow Events will create a custom rail jam, on the edge of the lagoon, where people will compete for a $1000 prize. The event will end with tunes from Set Mo, who will do their final performance of the Something to Dream of Winter Tour.
“We are so excited to bring together the Australian board riding and music communities to celebrate a key seasonal change here at Urbnsurf,” said Urbnsurf CEO Damon Tudor. “There’s such a strong cross over between Australia’s surf and snow cultures and with amazing music thrown in the mix, it really will be the must-attend event of the winter.”
Tickets start at $39.99, and pre-sale tickets will be available from 9am on Monday July 18. The second ticket release will start at 9am on Wednesday July 20.
More about Urbnsurf
Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean you can’t go surfing. Head to this park near Melbourne Airport, and take advantage of the quieter season with some winter deals.
For beginners, head to The Bays, where you’ll find gentle waves. It’s the perfect place to have fun on a softboard or bodyboard in a safe environment. In The Bays, you’ll also find a lagoon with crystal-blue water, that’s perfect for swimming around and just having fun.
For something a little more challenging, visit The Point. Experience larger waves from playful, point-break style ones to thicker, barrelling waves.
When you’re not surfing, warm up inside the hot tubs, which are open daily from 8am to 8pm. There’s fires around the park to help you keep warm, heaters in the cabanas, and delicious food from the Three Blue Ducks restaurant.
