The amazing Antipodes Festival is coming back to Melbourne this month. Back for its 38th year, over 150,000 people are expected to attend the festivities. Look forward to over 90 hours of live entertainment across three stages, over 100 pop-up market stalls, rides, street performers, and of course, plenty of delicious Greek food and drink. This colossal festival will take place on the historic Greek Quarter on Lonsdale Street, between Swanston and Exhibition Streets. It will run on Saturday February 28 and Sunday March 1, from 10am until late.

Celebrate Greek culture at this vibrant street party. The food will take centre stage, with plenty of charcoal-grilled meats like gyros and souvlaki, as well as irresistible sweet treats, like honey-dipped loukoumades. Quench your thirst with a traditional Greek coffee, or opt for imported Greek beer, wine or soft drink. If you’re really passionate about food, check out Flavours of Greece, the cooking demonstration stage, and watch as chefs share recipes, tips and stories inspired by Greece.

There’s so much entertainment to soak in across the weekend. Expect over 500 performers from around Australia, as well as leading artists from Greece. Headlining the program this year is acclaimed Greek singer Ioulia Karapataki, as well as Konstantina Touni and Nikos Pontiakakis. On the stage, look forward to live music, DJs and traditional music ensembles. On the street, have fun with roving performers.
Take part in the famous Zorba ‘Till You Drop Competition, and challenge yourself to keep up with Zorba. The last person standing will win return flights to Greece.
There’s also plenty of carnival rides to keep you busy, as well as Silent Disco tours, face painting and fun activities for kids.
