4 Magical Melbourne Venues With Igloo Pop-Ups This Winter

Winter just isn’t the same without igloos, not even in Australia.

Winter is coming and the igloos have arrived. At least, the 24 igloos at Melbourne’s Winter Village have arrived. However, these will soon be joined by more igloos that will be popping up at four Melbourne venues over the next week so that the merry winter magic can spread far and wide.

The pop-up igloos come by way of Australian Venue Co. who will be setting them up at The Station Hotel, The Auburn Hotel, The Wharf Hotel and  The Studley Park Boathouse. You can expect each igloo to feature sparkling fairly or tea lights as well as a whole heap of winter comforts, like plush blankets to keep you warm and plenty of cushions for a cosy feel. Unlike a real igloo, these are all see-through so that you can see the starry night sky twinkle overhead. (Pray for clear skies.)

While the decor of the igloos will be similar at each of the venues, the dining packs are looking a bit different. For example, a High Tea with both sweet and savoury bites will be on offer at Studley Park Boathouse, which can be made bottomless for 90 minutes, while the igloo wonderland popping up at The Wharf is serving up grazing boards loaded with salt and pepper squid, flatbreads, fried chicken ribs, tuna tacos and more. Both The Station Hotel and The Auburn Hotel are doing a three-course feed me banquet with a complimentary drink.

The winter igloo dining experiences vary in price from $49-$69 per person with igloos, depending on the venue, suitable for couples or groups as big as six or eight.
