After surprising us with a performance from Robbie Williams and DJ Caribou earlier this month, Fed Square will once again host a free live concert. This time, Melbourne group Glass Beams will be the headliners. This will be the band’s only major show in Australia before they make their Coachella debut. Get ready to be swept away with an entrancing mix of jazz, cosmic rock and psychedelic funk. Glass Beams will perform in a free, all-ages concert at Fed Square, in partnership with Asia TOPA, on Friday February 21, from 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
Fed Square x Asia TOPA LIVE with Glass Beams
Glass Beams combine modern electronic devices used in Western music with traditional instruments from India, celebrating the heritage of their founding member Rajan Silva. They debuted with their EP Mirage in 2021, and recently released their breakout EP Mahal, captivating listeners with their lyric-less music. Feel hypnotised by psychedelic riffs from the masked trio in Fed Square.
They will be joined by Japanese born, Melbourne-based Shio, who will kick off the night with some vibey DJ sets. She will be followed by Tokyo-based experimental pop band Tam Tam, who will inject plenty of euphoria into the summer night.
Together, they’ll kick off the Asia TOPA festival with an unforgettable block party.
Meanwhile, the summer nights at Fed Square will continue with free Candlelight concerts in early February.
