Winter is on the horizon, which means trips to the snow, regional festivals and cosy cups of hot chocolate. And for those living in Melbourne’s west, there will also be a pop-up ice skating rink in Werribee for the very first time. Slide across the ice, and enjoy DJ tunes and warm winter bites. The pop-up ice skating rink will take over the Wyndham Cultural Centre Car Park from Friday July 4 to Sunday July 13.

This new experience will run during the school holidays and will be held in place of the annual Winter Street Party. The pop-up will be fully enclosed, so it will be suitable for all kinds of weather. This family-friendly activity will be great for everyone, including beginners and pros. Skate hire and learn to skate equipment will be included with each ticket.
“Winter is traditionally a quiet time for local businesses and the pop-up ice skating rink will draw thousands of people into our city centre, building on the success of multiday events like LIT and encouraging people to stay longer and explore local shops, restaurants, cafes and other businesses,” said Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw.
Throughout the season, you can look forward to themed skating sessions, DJ tunes and winter food from local traders. More details about the program will be announced closer to the event.
In the meantime, the pop-up will kick off with an Opening Night on Friday July 4, and will open from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. After that, it will open daily from 10:30am to 8:30pm.
Tickets are $5 for children, $10 for adults and $25 for a family of two adults and two children.
