Jetstar is running low-fare flights between Australia and Sri Lanka, and today, they launched their first service from Melbourne to Colombo. This new route will run three times a week, all year round, and to celebrate the occasion, they’re doing a 48-hour sale, where you can nab tickets for just $319 one way.
Melbourne to Colombo with Jetstar
Discover stunning national parks, ancient cities, lovely beaches and scenic railways by taking a holiday to Sri Lanka. The new Jetstar route will add over 100,000 seats between Melbourne and Colombo a year.
Passengers will fly on Jetstar’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, which is steadily being upgraded with refreshed economy and business class cabins. This refit will double the number of business class seats, and introduce Wi-Fi on board, so travellers can stream on their own devices. As the upgrades roll out, some flights will run on the refreshed planes, while others will use the existing 787s.
“Sri Lanka has so much to offer, and we’re excited to make it more affordable for Australians to experience its beautiful beaches, incredible wildlife, rich culture and world-class food,” said Stephanie Tully, Jetstar Group CEO. “We’ve already seen strong demand for flights, and Victoria is home to Australia’s largest Sri Lankan community, so we’re expecting the route to be popular with holiday makers and those visiting family and friends.”
