After delighting Melburnians last December, The Polar Express Train Ride is coming back to Puffing Billy. Inspired by the book and film of the same name, this magical train adventure will take you through the lush greenery of the Dandenong Ranges, and on towards the North Pole. Tickets for this enchanting journey will go on sale on Tuesday November 22 at 10am.
The Polar Express Train Ride by Puffing Billy Railway
Dress up in your best pyjamas and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of this holiday classic. The popular train ride will offer two services a day, from Friday December 9 to Friday December 16.
Your journey begins at Puffing Billy Railway’s Lakeside Station, where the Polar Express Conductor will punch your one-and-only golden ticket. After that, it’s a two hour round trip to Menzies Creek.
Sit on the carriage sill and merrily dangle your legs. Then, have fun with acrobatic song and dance performances from Hobo the cynical Christmas Ghost, the Hot Chocolate Dancers and some of Santa’s little helpers.
At Menzies Creek, you’ll disembark for a 60 minute stopover. There will be carols, a chance to explore the Menzies Creek Museum, and time to take pictures with characters from The Polar Express.
On your way back to Lakeside, you’ll hear the sound of sleigh bells, watch one last theatrical performance and treat yourself to an ice chocolate milk and Christmas Cookie.
The Lakeside Visitor Santa will transform into the North Pole, where you’ll meet Santa himself. In this special Meet & Greet, you’ll receive the first gift of Christmas, a shiny sleigh bell from Santa’s sleigh. There will also be photo opportunities with his special little helpers.
There will also be an area to write letters to Santa, a Polar Express movie theatre, an arts and crafts activity zone, and exclusive access to The Polar Express merchandise in the gift shop.
Online bookings are sure to sell out fast, so mark your calendars for Tuesday November 22 to secure your spot.
