Have you ever experienced Halloween in a castle? If you’re looking to get into the spirit of things this spooky season, drive out to Kryal Castle near Ballarat. The kids will have plenty of fun with trick or treating and more in the day time. But when the sun sets, the castle will transform into a nightmarish landscape for adults only.
Halloween at Kryal Castle
At just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne, this castle is perfect for both day trips and weekend adventures.
During the day, Kryal Castle will be filled with all sorts of Halloween fun for the kids. Armed with a trick or treat bag, they’ll go on Dr. Frankenstein’s Spooky Scavenger Hunt, solve riddles and challenge themselves to some ghoulish experiments. There will also be plenty of child-friendly characters, as well as Kryal Castle favourites like archery, knight school, making magical potions and watching knights on horses battle it out in a joust. These family-friendly events will take place on Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30, from 10am to 4pm.
However, you’ll want to keep the kids away after dark, because the castle will be filled with over 30 terrifying creatures prowling around the grounds. Traverse the length of the castle and face terrors in four spine-tingling mazes, through the Torture Dungeon, Labyrinth, Graveyard and Haunted Towers.
This adults-only night experience will also include an Undead Joust, a Sword Fight to the Death and a Blood Bath, culminating in a wicked dance party on the Tournament Arena.
While you’re there, feast on Halloween food and drink, and check out the horror-inspired live music and entertainment.
This 18+ event will start at 7pm, and end at 1am. It will take place on Friday October 28 and Saturday October 29. Bookings are available now.
