There’s just something so delightful about Japanese soufflé pancakes. There’s the sweet taste, of course, the fluffy texture, and the sheer joy of watching them wibble and wobble. And soon, you’ll be able to try them at a specialty Japanese cafe in Melbourne CBD. After captivating foodies in Perth, Kumo Desserts is opening their flagship store in Melbourne Central on Wednesday May 10.
Kumo Desserts
The team at Kumo Desserts have worked on their soufflé pancake recipe over the past four years. They’ve batch-tested over 100 variations to get the perfect ratio and consistency. There’s a true art to these fluffy pancakes, with high quality ingredients and sharp technique to create the perfect treat. Kumo Desserts uses customised soufflé pancake grills to achieve the right texture and fluffiness. They also add cultured whey butter to elevate the flavour.
Indulge in delicious flavours like the Boba Brûlée Bomb, which features caramelised custard and black sugar boba, or the signature Biscoffee, a soufflé pancake stuffed with biscoff and coffee, and served with mascarpone. Other flavours include honey, mango, strawberry and Nutella. Coming soon on the menu, you’ll also find pandan-infused pancake or pancake served with durian and ube gelato.
If you’re feeling thirsty, this dessert café is also serving up a selection of specialty drinks, including Hojicha Tea with cream foam, lychee mocktail, yuzu lemonade and matcha latte. There’s also plenty of coffee and tea for you to enjoy.
