Melbourne Royal Show
Round up your family and friends and head over to the Showgrounds for this quintessential Melbourne experience. There’s new attractions and activities for you to look forward to, as well as familiar favourites.
Agriculture
This year, the Show will pay homage to the 60th anniversary of the Animal Nursery. To celebrate, the Animal Nursery will feature over 250 cuddly animals, including a new surprise experience for visitors. Feed and meet some adorable goats, rabbits, lambs, piglets and more farmyard favourites.
The Melbourne Royal Show will also celebrate the 90th year of the Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout. Head to the Horses in Action Arena and watch these magnificent horses compete in one of Australia’s most prestigious equestrian events.
There will also be a variety of new and free agricultural events, including Working Clydesdales and Australian Wildlife Show demonstrations. Budding farmers are welcome to try sheep shearing and milking cows, as well as orchard picking and egg gathering.
In the Livestock Pavilion, you’ll find a whole range of sheep, cattle, alpacas and more as they compete for blue ribbons.
Meanwhile, kelpies will demonstrate their farm skills with some exciting working dogs demonstrations. Watch them round sheep into a pen, just like they would on a farm.
Live Entertainment
Don’t miss the brand-new Sushi Hub Superdog Spectacular. Watch Australian Champion Dogs display their agility and skills across four 30-minute shows each day.
For more exciting stunts, check out the Airtime Freestyle Motorcross Stunt Show, and watch motorbike and BMX riders defy gravity with spectacular tricks and daredevil moves.
Children will have lots of fun at the new Kids Entertainment Theatre. This undercover space will host 11 shows each day, featuring familiar friends from Sesame Street, Paw Patrol and more.
Stick around after dark for a dazzling fireworks display that’s choregraphed to music. For more evening entertainment, check out a new Fire and Light Show, performances by Australian country music artists and the hilarious Chicken Run around the Main Arena.
Food and drink
Pop into the new Asian-fusion inspired precinct, the Good Fortune Garden, for treats from Gong Cha, DeMochi, Shandong Mama, Miss Wonton Gold Coin, Nomi Katsu and Hoy Pinoy.
On the Coca-Cola Eat Street, you’ll find Cuban-inspired cuisine from Atlas Dining chef Charlie Carrington, Japanese flavours from Mr. Miyagi, as well as American hot dogs, Dutch pancakes, Greek wraps and Indian food.
The Country Women’s Association (CWA) will be there with their famous scones and other baked goods, preserves and breakfast classics.
If you need a pick-me-up, St Remio Coffee will be available across the Showgrounds. Each cup will help them fund projects to support female coffee growing communities.
Other treats you can look forward to include Fluffy Crunch Fairy Floss, the Korean potato treat Twistto’s, Wonder Pies, dagwood dogs, sushi, pizza and more.

If arts and crafts are more your style, head to the Melbourne Royal Art, Craft & Cookery Competition to see over 4000 creative exhibits. Admire decorated cakes, preserves, dog fashion, photography and more.
