If you’ve ever watched Night at the Museum and dreamt about staying in a museum after hours, then you’ll love the new overnight program at Melbourne Museum. Enjoy the ultimate slumber party with exclusive tours, behind-the-scenes access and awesome exhibitions at Museum Sleepovers. These sleepovers are suitable for all ages, and are split between family sessions and adults-only ones. There will be sessions on select dates throughout June and July.
Museum Sleepovers
With sleepovers for all ages, you’ll have fun at the museum no matter how old you are.
In the Adults sessions, you’ll receive a welcome drink, and enjoy an exclusive torchlight tour of Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs. Then, feel the Force and experience the stellar LEGO Star Wars exhibition. Race over to IMAX to see the thrilling new F1 film and munch on snacks from the Candy Bar. You can also unwind with gin, jaffles and board games. Drift away to dreamland on an Ecosa mattress underneath dinosaurs. When you wake up, you’ll get a hot breakfast and a meet-and-greet with Trio, the baby Triceratops.
Meanwhile, families will also have private access to the LEGO Star Wars exhibition. See Blue Whales 3D at IMAX, then wander into the Dynamic Earth gallery and see the skeletons of Dinosaur War by torchlight. Listen to a bedtime story before going to sleep among the dinosaurs, then wake up to a hot brekkie and a close-up encounter with a baby Triceratops. Family sessions are split between ages 6 to 12 and 10 to 16.

Each sleepover ticket includes museum admission for the next day, free overnight parking, exclusive access to exhibitions, gifts, souvenirs and an IMAX snack pack featuring popcorn, drink and a choc top.

This costs $310 for adult members, $355 for general adults and $325 for concession.
Family
- Thursday July 17 to Friday July 18 (ages 10 to 16)
- Friday July 18 to Saturday July 19 (ages 6 to 12)
- Saturday July 19 to Sunday July 20 (ages 6 to 12)
This costs $245 for adult members, $225 for child members, $265 for general adults and $245 for children.
