The team behind Belles Hot Chicken, Welcome to Thornbury and Welcome to Brunswick have launched a new pizza place in Brunswick. Taking up residence in the original Penny Black venue, this new destination features $8 pizza, DJ tunes, in-house cocktails and local brews. The party palace, called NONO, is celebrating their opening this month by giving away 420 pizzas. Grab your free pizza between 1pm and 1am on Saturday December 17, and 1pm and 10pm on Sunday December 18. During this time, they’re also serving up $4.20 house pints and shots to get you well and truly into the silly season.
NONO
NONO is a 950-person venue complete with a 1-metre mirror ball, an outdoor garden bar and rave cave. Expect a rotating roster of resident and guest DJs each night, including Anyo Castro, Casey Leaver and Claire Knight. Open from Thursdays to Sundays, and with a late close of 2am, this revived destination will be the perfect place for gatherings with your crew.
“420 Sydney Road has hosted some of Brunswick’s biggest parties and bands over its 14-year history,” said Joss Jenner-Leuthart, Managing Director of Belles Hot Chicken, Welcome to Thornbury and Welcome to Brunswick. “We’re pumped to keep the legacy alive breathing new life into the original post office building. NONO is our take on no-fuss food, drinks and good tunes and entertainment ’til the wee hours.”
Keep your energy going with some $8 pizza, made from scratch and rolled to order. House favourites include a lamb kebab pizza topped with overnight lamb shoulder, spinach, red onion, mozzarella and tzatziki. There’s also classic flavours like Margarita, peperoni, mushroom and Hawaiian. Belles’ infamous original seasoning crinkle fries also make an appearance.
Keep the party vibes going with in-house cocktails, including the North Side Lights, a concoction with Patient Wolf Gin, Pampelle Ruby Grapefruit, rosemary syrup and lime. Outside of the signature cocktails, you’ll find classic favourites like Negroni, Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martini. There’s also drinks to try on tap or in tinnies, including drinks from the 4 Pines brewery next door.
From December 15, there’ll be weekly Drag Bingo sessions every Thursday, featuring Melbourne queen duo Bettie Rose and Rubi Taboo. Select Sundays will feature “Sorry Not Sorry” sessions for those looking to carry on partying with their Sunday mates.
