If you’re looking for a place to study, read or work, Melbourne has a variety of great places to hang out, such as the stunning State Library Victoria or a cosy book cafe. And one place in particular has captured our attention, with immaculate vibes and whimsical spaces. Spend a day at O3, and feel like the main character in a novel, at this picturesque venue that acts as a coworking space, a library and a cafe all in one. Around the venue, you’ll find a treehouse, a car, indoor trees, park benches and more. The cafe and workspace is open daily from 10am to 9pm, and members can access the space 24/7. You’ll find O3 in Southbank.

O3 in Southbank, Melbourne
This incredible venue has gone viral for its cosy corners and relaxing spaces. Meet up with a friend and work together, or spend a day by yourself studying. There’s over 2000 books available for you to read, which were taken from a bookstore that was closing down. While you can’t borrow them, you can grab one from the shelf and settle into a lamp-lit nook. Board games are also on the way, so you’ll be able to take a break and have fun with your friends.

O3 also have a venue in Auckland, and are hoping to bring elements, like their social ‘Club Nights’ to Melbourne soon. Members will be able to form groups around their interests, like a Board Game Club for example, and hang out in the space.
If you need a little boost of energy, there is a cafe serving up coffee, as well as matcha, hojicha, hot chocolate, chai and tea. There’s also a selection of toasties, like ham & cheese or chicken pesto, for you to purchase if you’re feeling peckish.

How does it work?
You will need to purchase a membership to enter O3, and there’s different types of memberships depending on your needs. The basic ‘Brokie’ membership allows you to bring a friend and earn hourly o-coins, which can be spent on food, drinks and digital items. The ‘Villain’ membership gives you $40 worth of food and drink credits to spend every week, while the flexible ‘Ghost’ option lets you access the space without needing to commit to a minimum period. There’s also an app you can download to connect with other members.
You can visit O3 and see what it has to offer with a free trial. Just rock up early to secure a limited spot, and chat to the staff in the cafe to register. You don’t need to be a member to try the cafe.
