From the opening of Five Guys, to the In-N-Out pop-up, we’ve had quite a few American burger places come to Melbourne over the years. And soon, New York franchise Shake Shack will make its Australian debut in Melbourne for a limited time. Coming to town as part of the Australian Open, this global chain will set up shop in TOPCOURT and as an express service in John Cain Arena.
Shake Shack at the Australian Open
Shake Shack first began as a hot dog cart at Madison Square Garden, and has since become famous for their elevated versions of American classics, including their signature Shack Burger.
On the menu, you can look forward to made-to-order Australian Angus beef burgers. Expect signature items like its Shack Burger (a beef burger with their famous Shack Sauce), Shroom Burger (a veggie option made with portobello mushroom) and Cheese Fries, yummy crinkle-cut chips topped with a cheesy sauce.

“For many fans, their first Shake Shack burger or shake will be part of their AO 2026 experience which is so exciting,” said Tennis Australia’s Head of Product Growth and Innovation Fern Barrett. “Shake Shack’s arrival at the AO underlines how much this event has grown beyond the court, it’s a festival of food, sport and culture.”
Exclusive to the Australian Open, and available in TOPCOURT, you can also cool down with two delicious shakes. Choose between a honey and macadamia concoction or the Choc Fudge Cookies and Cream. Other refreshing drinks include their house-made lemonade and tasty vanilla shakes.
