A unique, pop-up experience is coming to the city. Get ready for Supermelbourne, which will transform Howey Place into a celebration of street art, music and more. Head underground into a secret laneway and enjoy a full program of DJs and music acts. Then, go above ground and discover three transformed shopfronts, offering up lively new experiences. Supermelbourne will run for a very limited time, from Saturday October 22 to Wednesday October 26.
Supermelbourne
This immersive pop-up experience is the launch of Melbourne’s new Only in the City campaign. This activation is meant to celebrate the city and encourage more visitors. It’s a free event, filled with food, drink, entertainment and art.
Journey underground and discover a secret basement, alive with an immersive art, music and light installation. Explore a world-first collaboration between street artists George Rose, Drez and experimental artist Kit Webster. Move to the sounds of live electronic acts and DJs, and feel dazzled by projections. While you’re there, sip on a limited nolo cocktail from mixologist Luke Whearty (Byrdi).
After that, head above ground and taste macarons from Scott Pickett, coffee from The Alley Edition and creations from Ross Magnaye (Serai). Check out apparel from Kip&Co, designed from cartoonist and illustrator Oslo Davis.
“We’re inviting Melburnians and visitors to revel in all that we love about our city first-hand at Supermelbourne this weekend,” said Lord Mayor Sally Capp.
Bookings are not required for this event. Supermelbourne will be open from 12pm to 7pm.
