The Melbourne Fair
At this fair, there’s something to suit every style and budget. Expect vintage fashion and couture dealers, with high-end brands like Chanel, Dior and Gucci.
Kick off the festival with your very own Antiques Roadshow experience by getting your art appraised. Leigh Capel from Belle Epoque will be at the fair to give art assessments and appraisals for visitors between 2pm and 3pm on Friday March 25.
Then, on Saturday March 26, feel mesmerised by fashion from the 20s, 30s and Art Deco era at the fair’s catwalk event. Narrated by historian Inger Sheil, you’ll learn easy and contemporary ways to incorporate 1920s clothing into your wardrobe.
After that, if you’d like to learn more about fashion, attend a talk by fashion anthropologist Tom McEvoy and vintage stylist and researcher Lily Chen. Together, they’ll take you through their approach through fashion history and the 1920s.
