50 Best Pizzerias in the Asia-Pacific for 2026
Japan is the most represented country on the list with 11 pizzerias, followed by Australia with nine, and China with six. Tokyo was the most featured city with seven restaurants, and Melbourne tied with Hong Kong for second place with four pizzerias each. The rankings are determined via a mystery shopper process.
The top 15 positions on the list will automatically enter the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World, which will be announced in Naples on September 15.

Shop225 in Pascoe Vale made it to the Top 10. If the name rings a bell, it’s because they also featured in 28th place in the 50 Top Pizza World Awards last year. Now, they’ve appeared 7th on the list. This neighbourhood spot was the first pizzeria in the country to be accredited by Coeliac Australia, and they were praised by 50 Top Pizza for their “great attention to allergies and food intolerances”. Their 2807 pizza with fior di latte, mushroom cream, pork sausage and porcini also received a special shout-out. Shop225 also received a special award for Best Pasta Proposal. The pasta was listed as “another strong point”, with home-made gnocchi, fettucine and more tasty options.
48h Pizza e Gnocchi Bar in South Yarra and Elsternwick appeared in 14th place. They were praised for their dough, which is leavened for at least 48 hours. Their “canguro” pizza with wild kangaroo salami, macadamia pesto and native greens received a nod, and there’s also a huge range of classic, gourmet and seasonal pizzas to try.
Il Caminetto, which is Shop225’s sister restaurant, also appeared on the list at number 29. Located in Moonee Ponds, this cosy venue was praised for its Parmigiana pizza, which had “well-prepared eggplants”, as well as its ravioli del plin, a homemade pasta with “classic Piedmontese preparation done really well”.
Finally, the last Melbourne spot on the list was +31 Pizzeria. This venue on Little Bourke St was ranked 40th on the list, with their pizza divided between the red and white base. The guide recommended the the Capricciosa on the red side and the Quattro Fromaggi on the white side.
