There’s lots of exciting things to see and do along the Mornington Peninsula, with beautiful beaches, soothing hot springs and lovely walks. And, if you’re looking for a peaceful day out for the whole family, why don’t you swing by Benton Rise Farm? This wholesome space is home to a restored train carriage filled with fresh, local produce, as well as a cafe, a vintage tram and friendly farm animals. You’ll find it in Tuerong, about one hour away from Melbourne. This farm is open from Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 3pm.

Benton Rise Farm
Wander over to this cute place, and hop into the old red rattler carriage, where you’ll find shelves stacked with fresh, local produce. You’ll find items grown on the farm itself, as well as goods from Mornington Peninsula growers and makers. Find pantry items, baked goods, honey, preserves and seasonal produce.
When you’re not browsing through the shop, check out the green and gold W-class tram, which is filled with toys for kids to play with.

Stay a little longer and grab something from the cafe. Sip on coffee, and treat yourself to something small and sweet like a slice or a muffin. Or, enjoy something savoury like a toastie or a ham and cheese croissant.
Then, explore the farm and meet all the lovely rescue animals, such as goats, sheep and chickens. If you like, you can also feed them! This is available at 10am and 1pm each day.
The kids can also stay busy with a little playground and sandpit.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to come along, as long as they are on a lead.
