Film buffs, this one’s for you! IMAX Melbourne is bringing back their Best Biggest IMAX Film Festival. See a spectacular line-up of fan favourites like Oppenheimer, Dune and The Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as newer releases like Sinners and One Battle After Another. These flicks will all be presented on Australia’s only IMAX 70mm film prints. The festival kicks off on Saturday, January 31. Tickets go on sale at 1pm on Wednesday, January 14 for IMAX Big League members and 3pm for the general public.

After welcoming over 18,000 audience members across 2024 and 2025, this film festival is back in Melbourne for its third year.
The curated film program takes advantage of IMAX’s exclusive expanded ratios 1.9 and 1.43, allowing you to see even more than on a regular cinema screen. The festival also showcases 3D technology and rare IMAX 70mm film prints.
Watch some of your favourite Christopher Nolan movies in the lead-up to the release of The Odyssey, coming to IMAX in July this year. Enjoy a double feature of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series, and get hyped for the release of Dune: Messiah this December. You can also look forward to 4k remasters of films like Back to the Future and The Matrix.
