It’s been an incredible year of free-gigs at Fed Square, with notable names like Robbie Williams, Kneecap, Caribou, Glass Beams and Eddy Current Suppression Ring. And soon, Melbourne’s own King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will take over Fed Square for their first-ever rave set in Australia. This will also be the band’s first show in the country in over two years. You can see them live and for free this week on Friday October 24.

The night with kick off with a show from Merve, a Berlin-based, Naarm-born DJ and producer. She has lit up dance floors around the world, and will soon take over Fed Square with her energetic and boundary-pushing tunes.

If you’re keen for more, Detroit’s Moodymann and Melbourne’s own DJ Jnett will bring more electronic music to Fed Square. Moodymann is known for his deep house sound, which fuses soul, funk, disco and hip hop, as well as his unpredictable sets. Meanwhile, DJ Jnett is a pioneer of Australia’s electronic scene, with genre-blurring sets and decades of influence. This stacked show will take place on Thursday November 27.
Then, on New Year’s Eve, Fed Square will celebrate with a curated selection of Melbourne DJs from 7pm. On the line-up, you’ll find MzRizk, Gavin Campbell and Barry Sunset.
