From illuminated spaces in Werribee, Frankston, Adventure Park, Gumbuya World and Echuca-Moama, we have been spoiled for choice when it comes to glittering light trails. And now, we have another one to look forward to. Presented by the same team as Lightscape, this new event will take over Melbourne’s southeast. Get ready for Lightfall, a world-first experience at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne. It will arrive in time for the Easter school holidays, and run from Sunday April 6 to Sunday April 20.

Lightfall in Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne
Wait for dusk, and watch the botanic gardens light up under the night sky. Take a stroll around the Australian Garden, and admire large-scale light sculptures, stunning landscapes and immersive soundscapes. The trail is about 1km long, and should take between 45 to 60 minutes for you to experience.
“We are delighted to bring Lightfall to the breathtaking Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne,” said Jonathan Marks, Managing Director, Sony Music Entertainment. “This unique setting, with its remarkable native plants and striking landscapes, provides the perfect canvas for an immersive light experience. The fusion of art, light and nature will create something truly extraordinary.”
There will be a range of food and drink to purchase along the trail if you get hungry or thirsty.
Tickets are $22 for adults on Mondays and Sundays, and $26 from Tuesday to Saturday. You will also need to pre-purchase a parking ticket or a park and ride ticket in advance for an extra $10. Tickets are on sale now.
