Picture this. You walk through some private doors, into a hotel-style bar and lounge, and are greeted by name by the concierge. You enjoy a drink, and then head to a workout class. After that, you enjoy a personalised lunch, then relax and unwind in the thermal baths. Before you leave, you enjoy a guided meditation session. Does this sound like a wonderfully tranquil day out to you? Well, it’s soon about to become a reality, when the private wellness club, Saint Haven, opens in Collingwood next March.
Saint Haven
Created and backed by entrepreneur Tim Gurner, founder and CEO of Gurner Group, Saint Haven will be a holistic space, where you can work out, practice mindfulness, enjoy treatments, eat delicious food and develop social connections.
“Through my wellness journey I had always seen it as a limitation of the industry that I could never access all the treatments and services together in one place,” said Gurner. “It was always one venue for a gym, another for a recovery studio, and another for medicinal or alternative health treatments – no one has ever integrated it all into one holistic space.”
The club will include a holistic bar and restaurant that emulates a luxurious hotel. Complete with a concierge team, guests will be greeted by name, and will enjoy coffee, smoothies, non-alcoholic cocktails, nootropics and more before or after their workout or treatment.
Saint Haven features six distinct training and performance zones. They cover Strength + Conditioning, High Intensity Interval Training, Yoga, Meditation & Breathwork, Reformer Pilates and Performance Cycling.
There are also thermal baths for you to dip into. Inspired by an ancient Italian grotto, you’ll alternate between hot and cold pools, enriched with Himalayan rock salts and minerals. There’s also vitamin C-infused showers, infrared saunas, cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and IV infusion therapy.
There’s also a members lounge and coworking space to help you mingle.
The internal spaces were inspired by the harmonious interiors found in Northern Italy’s wellness retreats, and every aspect, from the heated floors to the signature scent, is designed to help you feel calm.
Monitoring your health
Saint Haven also offers a comprehensive health check, which uses empirical data such as blood markers, epigenetic testing, pathology screening, blood glucose monitoring, sleep and resting heart rate data, to analyse your current state of health and wellbeing.
Once you’ve been assessed, you can receive a tailored program that will highlight areas you need to work on and optimise your health journey. This program covers nutrition, rest, recovery and treatments.
You can also keep your health in check thanks to a Saint Haven Members App. This will make informed workout, recovery and nutrition recommendations, based on your personalised Oura ring sleep and readiness score.
Membership to this exclusive club is not guaranteed. It’s based on an application process, similar to a private club model. With such a rigorous approach to holistic health, applicants will need to undertake an interview process, and show a real desire to focus on their health and wellness. Once in the club, members can pay for different levels of service. This can range to $130 per week for a standard membership, to over $1000 a week for unlimited access.
