After opening in South Yarra last year, SOAK Bathhouse is ready to take over a second space in Melbourne. They will bring their signature bathing experiences to South Melbourne, setting up on the ground floor of a luxury development on Clarendon Street. SOAK Bathhouse has signed a 10-year lease for the space, and is set to open in August 2026.

SOAK Bathhouse in South Melbourne
This wellness destination will take over 459 square metres of the $160 million Emerald Place development. Located in the prime corner of the ground floor, SOAK will be joined by two other retail tenancies, high-end commercial space and 38 premium residential apartments and penthouses.
Since it first opened in Mermaid Beach, SOAK has grown to become a popular destination for wellness across Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland. Known for their socially-focused mineral pools, they have won plenty of awards and accolades over the years, including Best of Queensland Experience 2023 & 2024.
While the specifics are still tightly under wraps, SOAK has confirmed that the South Melbourne space will include a mineral pool, cold plunge, steam room and saunas. You can also expect lush greenery and ferns throughout the bathing spaces.

“At SOAK Bathhouse, we believe wellness is something that’s meant to be shared,” said CEO and Co-Founder of SOAK, Alexis Dean. “With South Melbourne, we wanted to create a space where the community can gather, build rituals and experience wellness in a way that feels social, welcoming and part of everyday life.”
Due to a partnership with developer Lowe Living, those living in the Emerald Place development will receive exclusive discounted access to the space. Meanwhile, penthouse buyers will receive a complimentary membership.
The South Melbourne venue will also benefit those working or living in the inner city, offering busy office workers nearby the chance to decompress in the bathhouse before they make their way home.
You’ll find the second SOAK location at 182-200 Clarendon St, South Melbourne VIC 3205.
