We’ve got so many options for a fun bike ride, from the mountain bike park in Creswick, to a scenic rail trail in the High Country, or a lovely trail near the Great Ocean Road. And if you’re going east of Melbourne , you might have already tried out the new Warburton Bike Park, which soft-launched 30km of trails just last year. And soon, this space will more than double its network of purpose-built mountain bike trails, leaving you even more terrain to explore. Warburton Bike Park will officially open its new trails on Saturday April 4.

Drive roughly 90 minutes east of Melbourne and have a blast exploring this park in the Yarra Ranges. In this new expansion, you can expect over 60km of trails in total. Explore over 15 new trails with up to 650 metres of elevation. Expect a diverse range of paths and features, created by mountain bike trail designers World Trail.
“World Trail have been working hard to craft some truly exceptional riding experiences, and this new stage will really show what Warburton Bike Park can deliver,” said Yarra Ranges Mayor, Cr Richard Higgins.

Find something for all skill levels at this incredible destination. From short, wide trails for new riders, to challenging descents for experts, this place has something for everyone. Move through gum forests and lush fern gullies, take in views of Warburton from the summit of Mt Little Joe, look out for the Yarra River, try out fun loops or mix and match the trails to create your own adventure. If you’re looking for something accessible, there’s also an easy trail that’s suitable for adaptive riders, families and newbies.

At the Wesburn Park trailhead, you’ll find helpful facilities like parking, a bike wash, bike tool stands, toilets, picnic tables a playground and a pump track. From April 4, this place will also be the location for the shuttle drop-off and pick-up area. With the shuttle bus service, you can have more fun zooming down the hill, and less time on the climb. Bookings for the shuttle service will open in March.
And if this already feels like a lot, there’s even more to look forward to, with the park gearing up to have a whopping 160km of mountain bike trails.

Here is the future timeline:
- April 2026 – new trails will be revealed, bringing the total to over 60km.
- September 2026 – more trails will be released, featuring three mysterious elements.
- 2027 – the full 125km Southern Network will be complete.
