We’ve had a few American burger chains set up in Melbourne or run pop-ups over the years, like Five Guys, In-N-Out and Shake Shack. And now, there’s a new one to look forward to. You might know them from their bright red hair, or their sassy social media profile. And soon, you’ll get to know them for their burgers and Frosty’s. Wendy’s is coming to Melbourne, and while the location of its first restaurant is still a secret, they are getting us ready with a one-day-only pop-up in AC/DC Lane. The Wendy’s Walk-Thru pop-up will open at 10am on Wednesday, June 10, and the first 300 customers will get a free Classic Single burger and Coke.

Wendy’s Walk-Thru in AC/DC Lane
After opening stores in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Wendy’s is finally coming to Victoria. They’re celebrating in the most Melbourne way possible by setting up in a laneway, where you can expect custom graffiti art, a live DJ, and a red-headed Wendy’s host.
“Melbourne is incredibly important to us, and we knew we had to show up in a way that truly honours the city’s unique culture,” said Corina Black, Chief Marketing Officer, Wendy’s ANZ. “The Wendy’s Walk-Thru is a fun celebration to thank the community, but it also signals our commitment to shaking up the fast-food experience with hospitality that puts customers front and centre. We have something very exciting up our sleeve for Victoria, and this is just the beginning.”

Head to the Walk-Thru, and try their Classic Single burger. This burger is made with a quarter-pound of fresh Aussie beef, with American-style cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup and mayo on a toasted, brioche-style bun.
There’s 300 burgers up for grabs, and it’s first-come, first-served. You’ll find the Wendy’s Walk-Thru outside Bar Bambi.
