Spring is here, and there’s so many marvellous garden and flower events to enjoy right now, such as the Blossom Festival and the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. And tucked away at the foot of the Macedon Ranges, you’ll find the Bolobek Garden Fair. Back for its 12th year, this event for green thumbs features over 50 stallholders, as well as garden tours, guest speakers and gourmet food and wine. You’ll find it over 45 minutes away from Melbourne, and it’s all happening this weekend on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4.

Bolobek Garden Fair
Whisk yourself away to the historic Bolobek gardens where you’ll find a bustling fair, filled with garden lovers and nature enthusiasts. Wander through the stalls and discover plants, bulbs, garden tools, pots, accessories, art, produce and homewares. With plenty of specialists, you’ll encounter rare plants and unusual garden treasures that are difficult to find elsewhere.
If you’re feeling hungry, there will be coffee, wine, refreshments and food trucks from vendors like Mount Macedon Trading Post, The Vintage Baker and Turkish Street Food. The Rotary Club of Kyneton will also be cooking up a barbecue.

While you’re there, amble around the heritage gardens, and admire the sprawling lawns, shady trees and blooming flowers. The blooms depend on the season and time of year, with cheery daffodils, delicate crab apple blossoms and colourful perennial borders. Swing by the rose garden, where you’ll see these pretty flowers begin to bloom, and walk beneath majestic oak and beech trees. You can explore on your own, or take a guided tour.
Throughout the day, there will be guest speakers, including Jo Lawson, the Head Gardener of the acclaimed regional restaurant, Brae. One lucky attendee will win an overnight escape to this venue in the Otways.
The kids will also have fun, with activities like face painting and a petting zoo.
As this is set on a working farm, dogs aren’t allowed to come along.

More things to do
