From FoMo Cinemas in East Brunswick, to Palace Penny Lane Cinema in Moonee Ponds, there’s lots of awesome cinemas for us to explore around Melbourne. And now, we’ve got a cool new spot to check out. Head to a former Sherrin football factory in Collingwood, and settle into the cosy new Eclipse Cinema. There’s five to six screenings to choose from each day, with the first shows at 11am. This venue is now open for you to enjoy.

Eclipse Cinema
This independent, single-screen cinema has 64 seats, and is owned by former film projectionist Mark Walker. Look forward to a mix of new releases and niche programming, with Wednesdays devoted to a series of Pedro Almodóvar films, such as All About My Mother and Matador. Scattered throughout the line-up, you’ll also see new releases from A24, including Eddington, starring Emma Stone and Pedro Pascal, and Friendship with Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson. Other films you can watch include the Canadian-Iranian absurdist comedy Universal Language, the historical epic Grand Tour and a 4K restoration of the documentary Burden of Dreams.
Upcoming films include the award-winning doco No Other Land, the Safdie brothers’ Good Time and MIFF headliner Sorry, Baby.

Treat yourself while you’re there with beers from Stomping Ground, O’Brien gluten-free beers, a selection of wine and bottles of Pommery. There’s popcorn of course, but if you’re after something sweet, go with a house-made choc top or Pat & Stick’s oat milk ice cream.
You’ll find Eclipse at 32 Wellington St, Collingwood VIC 3066. Learn more about it here.
