The excellent chocolatiers behind Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie are keeping our spirits up with a delightful hot chocolate festival this August. Expect 31 tasty flavours, like Honeycomb Macadamia Kronut, across the 31 days of August.
Hot Chocolate Festival
If these chocolateries sound familiar, it’s because they’ve thrown other tasty food festivals this year, celebrating ice cream, brownies and rocky road.
Now, they’ve created 31 new delicious and decadent flavours for you to indulge in. Each week in August, there will be a revolving menu of eight different flavours to try every day, inside the cafĂ© or outdoor kiosk. Each hot chocolate is made by a barista, and served in a large glass with exciting treats to stir in, dip or dunk. Of course, there will be a fluffy, home-made marshmallow to go with your drink, and a shot of warm couverture chocolate.
During the festival, there will also be hot chocolate tasting sessions. In a 45 minute, hands-on session, you’ll sip and sample eight delicious flavours. On top of that, you’ll get to choose from dozens of gourmet ingredients to make personalised hot chocolates at home. Make three of your own “hot chocolate spoons”, take them home, add hot milk and voila! Your own decadent hot chocolate, suited to your taste. The tasting sessions will run from Friday to Sunday, and bookings are essential. Each session is $24 per person.
Can’t make it to any of their three locations? No worries! There will also be DIY kits for you to order online and try at home.
