The year has flown by, and soon, we’ll be counting down to the fireworks and celebrating the start of 2024. If you haven’t made plans yet, Melbourne is full of wonderful places for you to dance the night away. In no particular order, here are some excellent New Year’s Eve parties around Melbourne.
1. Fed Square
Fed Square will have a free program of entertainment on the Main Stage, with plenty of DJs to help you dance your way into the new year. 2. Arbory Afloat and Arbory Bar & Eatery
On New Year’s Eve, Arbory is saying goodbye to 2023 with an epic ‘Tulum Jungle Party’. Inspired by electric parties held in jungles on the Yucatán coast, this special event will feature plenty of eating, drinking, dancing and music. Take in some of the best views of the fireworks from this floating pontoon bar. Yarra Botanica will keep you happily busy with DJs, a roaming sax player and surprise entertainment. 9. Garden State Hotel and Tippy-Tay
Garden State Hotel has a few different options to try. If you don’t want to commit, their Garden Party is the place for you. Open to walk-ins only, this event includes drink specials through the night, DJs and a saxophonist, and re-entry for free after the fireworks.
For something more official, head to the Rose Garden and celebrate at their New Year’s Eve Retro Party. This nostalgic event includes live music, dancing, a four-hour beverage package and roaming 90s-inspired canapes. Tickets start from $115 per person.
Finally, for the food lovers, Tippy Tay is doing an incredible four-course Italian banquet. Indulge in a hearty feast, accompanied by a three hour beverage package. There will also be live music. Tickets are $185 per person, or $125 for non-drinkers.

16. H2oh’s Sunset on the Bay
Head to Port Melbourne for one of the most renowned New Year’s Eve parties. Two venues, Waterfront on the Pier and Campari, have come together for this epic sunset celebration. Head to St Kilda Sea Baths for a fantastic end-of-year celebration by Better In Colour. Captain Baxter, Sea Baths Rooftop, Republica and Encore will open for the festivities. 19. The Provincial
This venue in Fitzroy is throwing a multi-level celebration, so there’s two packages to choose from. The Rooftop Package includes four hours of drinks, as well as roaming canapes, a dessert station and DJs until 1am. Meanwhile, the Ground Package includes two hours of drinks, DJs until 3am and a DIY taco station. Both options include midnight toast and confetti cannons.
